Senior Communications Advisor (Contract) - Remote

Overview

The Senior Communications Advisor provides communications advice and communication plans to support and promote OntarioMD’s initiatives, including the realization of set targets. The role also supports strategies to increase awareness of OntarioMD. The role works closely with program and project internal clients, develops stakeholder relations outreach plans, key messages and internal communication for a variety of channels, including print, digital and social media.

• Develops and implements integrated communication and rollout plans and tactics to support a portfolio of projects/programs.
• Builds and maintains close working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ensures communications are effective and consistent with OMD voice, style, and brand.
• Serves as project manager for content development for various projects.
• Keeps track of program progress and project status.
• Researches, writes, edits, and proofreads a broad range of content.
• Provides a full range of communications support for complex projects.
• Liaises with internal contacts and external partners.
• Works with OMD program areas on presentation decks.
• Stays abreast of trends in communications and social media.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or related area.
• 5-7 years in corporate communications, journalism or public relations.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and oral communications skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of communications theory and marketing techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of social media platforms.
• Ability to distill complex subject matter into plain language.
• Seasoned interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Proven research and project management skills.
• Strong skills with Microsoft Suite applications.
• Basic understanding of the digital health landscape.
