Overview

The Practice Enhancement Consultant (PEC) is a field-based advisor working directly with clinicians and their practices to identify goals and develop plans for advancing their Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other eHealth Solutions usage and capabilities to improve patient and practice outcomes.

In Short

  • Works collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Supports EMR users through the process of EMR improvement.
  • Creates digital health best practices knowledge base.
  • Applies QI and change management principles to clinical practice.
  • Provides coaching and facilitation support to improve clinical workflow efficiencies.
  • Transfers knowledge and skill to clinicians through coaching and training.
  • Participates in pilot and proof of concept projects.
  • Maintains relationships with key local stakeholders.
  • Optimizes educational processes leveraging varied learning technologies.
  • Contributes to knowledge creation and development of coaching content.

Requirements

  • Degree in Health Services, eHealth, Medical Informatics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a healthcare role.
  • Strong project management and business analyst skills.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in QI projects.
  • Excellent coaching/facilitation skills.
  • Certification in Quality Improvement in Healthcare.
  • Understanding of EMR vendor services and IT dependency.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly flexible and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
