Accounting & Finance Lead (Act 60 — Manufacturing) - Remote

Overview

Our client is a small, growing business in Puerto Rico preparing to operate under an Act 60 manufacturing tax decree. We’re seeking an Accounting & Finance professional who has hands-on experience supporting a company that has successfully leveraged Act 60 incentives—ideally in a manufacturing environment. You will build and run our day-to-day finance operations while owning all compliance and reporting needed to maintain our tax decree benefits.

In Short

• Set up and maintain accounting and record-keeping frameworks for Act 60 requirements.
• Prepare and file annual compliance deliverables.
• Track and document eligible activities for audits and incentive renewals.
• Own the monthly close and deliver timely financial statements.
• Manage AP/AR, vendor onboarding, and collections.
• Implement inventory and manufacturing cost accounting.
• Coordinate Puerto Rico tax filings and payments.
• Oversee payroll processing and compliance.
• Create budgets and cash forecasts with variance analysis.
• Evaluate and optimize the accounting system.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Direct experience with Act 60 compliance and reporting.
• Strong command of US GAAP and internal controls.
• Working knowledge of Puerto Rico tax infrastructure.
• Hands-on with inventory/cost accounting.
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
• High ownership and discretion in a lean environment.
