Overview

The Operations Coordinator, HB Coding is a subject matter expert and role model of the Coding Department, coordinating a team effort to compile and maintain data for various functional areas within the department.

In Short

  • Oversee daily operations and provide direction to staff.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the division.
  • Design and implement workflow processes for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with employee engagement and promote teamwork.
  • Prepare division schedules to support management goals.
  • Collaborate with other divisions on maintaining content.
  • Analyze performance data and identify educational opportunities.
  • Train new hires and onboard contract coders.
  • Facilitate staff huddles and manage administrative functions.

Requirements

  • RHIT, RHIA or CCS credentialed.
  • 5 years of coding experience in an acute healthcare setting.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
  • 7 years of coding experience in an acute healthcare setting (preferred).
