Overview

The Documentation Specialist is responsible for pursuing, receiving, processing, validating & verifying physicians orders for current patients, working within the scope of responsibilities with guidance from the Customer Care leadership team.

In Short

  • Pursues, receives, reviews, and inputs Medical Record documents in data systems.
  • Reviews discrepancies in records received and requests clarification.
  • Performs data verification process in accordance with company procedures.
  • Contacts doctors' offices to verify and obtain accurate patient information.
  • Ensures accurate updates and entries are recorded as requested.
  • Provides timely solutions to potential complaints or concerns.
  • Maintains knowledge of all products and services offered by the company.
  • Complies with HIPAA rules, safeguarding private information.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed notes in the company system.
  • Adapts quickly to frequent process changes and improvements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in basic math and business calculations.
  • Working knowledge of computer/data entry.
  • Basic level of MS Office proficiency.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience with data entry or related clerical work.
