Staff Accountant - Remote

Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of reports and statements including general ledger bookkeeping, backend payroll processing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, maintaining accurate records of tuition, fees, and other cash receipts as well as the disbursement of funds to ensure the organization maintains financial well-being.

In Short

• Processes all accounts payable invoicing and payment to vendors.
• Reviews, approves, and processes reimbursements.
• Assists with backend payroll and payroll related vendor payments.
• Manages postings of daily cash receipts.
• Performs monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Reviews financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
• Organizes and updates financial records.
• Prepares documentation for external auditors.
• Participates in organizational and departmental meetings.
• Involved in the implementation of functional projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in finance or accounting required.
• Professional experience in higher education preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Experience with financial procedures and systems like Sage Intacct required.
• Experience adhering to legal and financial regulations required.
