Instructor I, Learner Resources - Writing Center - Remote

Overview

The Instructor I, Writing Center is responsible for the development, administration, teaching, and evaluation of learners in foundational education courses, resource courses, the writing center, and math lab. This role includes providing virtual coaching in reading and writing, as well as creating educational resources.

In Short

• Provide virtual coaching in all areas of reading and writing.
• Conduct coaching sessions via video, chat, and pre-recorded formats.
• Create reading/writing-specific resources such as handouts and video tutorials.
• Offer tailored explanations for diverse learners.
• Full-time position with evening and weekend requirements.
• Assist in creating learner resources to promote academic success.
• Monitor lab usage and contribute to reports.
• Maintain accurate attendance and performance records.
• Participate in team and organizational meetings.
• Assist learners with best practices for academic success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• Strong knowledge of APA references and citations.
• Experience in teaching or tutoring the writing process.
• Competency in web-based communication platforms.
• Experience in creating academic resources is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in higher education, especially online education.
