Senior Solar Project Engineer - Remote

Overview

Nexamp is seeking to hire a Senior Solar Project Engineer to join the Project Engineering team to work on solar and energy storage projects in the Distributed Generation (DG), Commercial & Industrial (C&I), and Utility-Scale Solar markets. You will get the opportunity to spearhead the engineering and design initiatives for our solar power plants and energy storage systems.

In Short

• Manage engineering and design for solar power plants and energy storage systems.
• Create drawings to maintain project timelines.
• Support construction of engineering designs.
• Lead activities of the project team to deliver optimized design and engineering packages.
• Make decisions on project-level tradeoffs to minimize Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE).
• Provide technical support throughout project phases.
• Coordinate engineering activities between teams.
• Lead energy modeling using Helioscope and PVSYST.
• Review and approve equipment drawings and specifications.
• Support new product and technology research initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering or equivalent educational/certification background.
• At least 4 years of experience in designing, optimizing, and supporting ground-mounted PV projects.
• Demonstrated experience in DG/Community Solar.
• Proficiency in energy modeling and risk assessment.
• Knowledge of NEC, IBC, and IFC codes.
• Skilled in PVSYST and AutoCAD.
• Experience managing PV projects in collaboration with external engineering firms.
• Expertise in project scheduling and cost estimation.
• NABCEP or EIT certification preferred.
• Strong quality management experience.
