The Nutrition Assistant plays a vital role in delivering personalized nutritional care to patients at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, ensuring compliance with diet restrictions and hospital standards.

In Short

• Work schedule: 9 hours, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Monday, Tuesday, and every other weekend.
• Assist patients with menu choices and dietary restrictions.
• Ensure all patients receive nourishment at each meal.
• Communicate regularly with clinical and production teams.
• Conduct meal rounds and tray assessments as assigned.
• Follow department procedures for ordering supplements.
• Attend department meetings and training classes.
• Handle phone requests according to department guidelines.
• Uphold hospital standards and policies.
• Perform various physical tasks related to food service.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Healthcare experience with patient contact preferred.
• Prior customer service experience via phone preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and clearly speak English.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to push food carts and handle multiple phone lines.
• Must adhere to I C.A.R.E. Standards.
• Physical stamina for standing, walking, and lifting.
• Ability to handle various physical tasks related to the role.
