Overview

The Medical Laboratory Assistant performs a variety of clerical and technical duties under general supervision, supporting laboratory operations and patient care.

In Short

• Perform clerical and technical duties in a laboratory setting.
• Responsible for patient registration and ordering tests.
• Centrifugation and decanting of patient specimens.
• Communicate effectively with laboratory and clinical staff.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Assist with special projects related to specimen processing.
• Work Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous laboratory processing or healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows software.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work accurately under stress.
• Attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Ability to efficiently move samples throughout the lab.
• Accurate computer skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently.
