Planning Engineer, Reliability Studies - Remote

Overview

The NYISO’s System & Resource Planning department is seeking a full-time Planning Engineer to conduct studies on system reliability and regulatory impacts on transmission system security and reliability.

In Short

• Conduct power system engineering studies for compliance requirements.
• Support the NYISO Reliability Planning Process.
• Participate in interregional and public policy planning studies.
• Develop models for evaluating geomagnetic disturbance impacts.
• Provide reports and presentations for the Reliability Studies Department.
• Coordinate studies with other NYISO staff and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in power system planning or design.
• Experience with analytical power engineering software.
• Knowledge of reliability standards for transmission planning.
• Ability to develop scripting for power system analysis.
