Staff Accountant - Remote

Overview

New Western is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This role is ideal for early-career professionals with 1–3 years of accounting experience — including internships or entry-level positions. You’ll be part of a small, collaborative group handling day-to-day accounting operations such as month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger management. This fully remote position offers hands-on experience, structured mentorship, and the opportunity to deepen your technical skills in a supportive team environment.

In Short

• Prepare reconciliations for bank, credit card, and GL accounts across multiple entities
• Assist in month-end close, including accruals, intercompany entries, and journal posting
• Support property deal closing entries and internal transfers
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and participate in internal audits
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and related journal entries
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to special projects as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• 1–3 years of hands‑on accounting experience (including internships or early professional roles)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ease with accounting software
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn NetSuite, Salesforce, and Ramp
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time‑management in a remote environment
• Positive attitude, coachability, and willingness to grow
