Overview

The Government Communications / Team Lead position involves supporting the United States Coast Guard's communication strategies and efforts, ensuring effective messaging for both internal and external audiences.

• Lead a team in producing high-quality communication products for the USCG.
• Plan and implement communication strategies and guidance.
• Provide writing and editing support for various communication materials.
• Write and proofread articles for USCG publications and websites.
• Oversee media coverage summaries and newsletters.
• Support event planning and coverage for USCG-related events.
• Maintain an editorial calendar for all written submissions.
• Assist in preparing speeches and briefing materials.
• Engage in media and stakeholder outreach through written materials.
• Provide graphic design support for communication products.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in communication strategies for government programs.
• BA/BS in a relevant field; MA/MS preferred.
• Experience with AP Stylebook; knowledge of Coast Guard style guide preferred.
• Familiarity with Section 508 Compliance requirements.
• Able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• U.S. Coast Guard experience is highly preferred.
