Lighting Technical Assistant - Remote

Overview

Netflix Animation Studios is seeking a Lighting Technical Assistant to support the Lighting Team in delivering creatively approved shots while learning about tools, pipeline, and workflows.

In Short

• Support Lighting Artists in lighting and rendering shots.
• Conduct initial testing of assets for render time and workability.
• Evaluate diagnostic renders to identify and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with Lighting Technical Directors on reporting issues.
• Communicate with upstream departments regarding asset and shot issues.
• Assist in diagnosing scene workability issues.
• Document lighting processes and troubleshooting tips.
• Perform shot lighting as directed by Lighting Lead or Supervisor.
• Collaborate with other Lighting TAs for knowledge sharing.
• Work in a hybrid role based in Sydney, Australia.

Requirements

• Experience in film, series, or game production environment.
• Knowledge of DCCs such as Maya, Blender, Katana, Houdini, or Nuke.
• Artistic background preferred.
• Understanding of the animation process is a plus.
• Tool building and scripting experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong task management skills.
• Self-motivated and proactive style.
• Calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
