Overview

The Manager, Public Policy is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and articulating how federal regulatory policy impacts people with mental health conditions and their families, working with NAMI to advocate for better mental health care.

  • Track and research proposed regulations.
  • Articulate public policy positions in various documents.
  • Write memoranda and reports on mental health-related policy issues.
  • Research evidence-based strategies related to mental health policy.
  • Support development of public policy strategies.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders on mental health issues.
  • Engage with federal agency staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience analyzing federal regulations.
  • Knowledge of mental health public policy issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience in building relationships with diverse groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Must pass a background check.
