Associate Staff Engineer - IBM i Systems Engineer II - Remote

Overview

The IBM i Systems Engineer II will be responsible for management, administration, and maintenance of all the power systems within set constraints and react appropriately to situations.

In Short

• Administer and maintain IBM i Power systems, including DR systems.
• Research and deploy new products (internally & externally developed).
• Manage replication to data warehouse systems using Mimix.
• Monitor enterprise-level Power systems to maintain performance levels.
• Manage i OS jobs and system messages.
• Control job environment through adjustment of system resources.
• Manage system and user security.
• Coordinate system activities with other groups.
• Identify effects of new product offerings on infrastructure.
• Utilize performance management tools for IBM i.

Requirements

• 5 or more years as administrator of IBM i Power systems.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, switching, and routing concepts.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to react quickly to high pressure situations.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Ability to take the lead, as appropriate.
• Ability to maintain good customer support.
