Overview

Mitiga is seeking a dynamic and experienced Risk Modeller to join our science team, focusing on catastrophe risk modelling solutions and collaborating with public administration institutions.

In Short

• Develop and implement advanced catastrophe risk models for (re)insurance.
• Analyze complex datasets to assess risks of natural disasters.
• Create stochastic models to simulate disaster scenarios.
• Design risk transfer solutions, including catastrophe bonds.
• Lead R&D projects in risk modelling methodologies.
• Engage with public sector clients for disaster resilience planning.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
• Stay updated on scientific research and industry trends.
• Conduct risk assessments for underwriting and portfolio management.
• Develop training programs for insurance professionals.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Mathematics, Economics, Earth Sciences, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in catastrophe risk modelling.
• Strong background in research and development.
• Experience with public administration institutions in disaster risk management.
• Deep understanding of insurance and reinsurance processes.
• Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages (Python, R).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
