Sports Illustrated is looking for a passionate and dynamic editor to join the SI Swimsuit trending news team, covering breaking and trending stories in fashion, celebrity news, and pop culture. As the primary editor, you will work closely with the VP to drive daily content production—writing, editing, and shaping strategic initiatives to boost traffic and engagement. This role is ideal for a creative storyteller with a keen eye for trending topics and a deep understanding of digital media strategies.

Overview:

• Help lead a virtual trending news desk, pitching stories to our team of writers and editing them
• Write compelling breaking and trending content, staying in sync with the latest pop culture and lifestyle news
• Keep your pulse on daily trending news by monitoring social media, other pop culture sites, and analytics tools
• Surface fresh angles on current stories that captivate and engage a wide audience
• Build stories with our in-house content management system (CMS), creating a holistic piece of content to enhance reader experience
• Understand how to attract and grow digital audiences through SEO best practices and social media savvy
• Collaborate on content strategy creation for daily news, events, evergreen SEO focus,

Where you'll be:

• Office is based in NYC 
• Preferably in NY but not required for the role 
• Remote or hybrid

Requirements

• At least 2 years of lifestyle and/or pop culture digital writing experience
• A strong passion for lifestyle and pop culture topics and the ability to keep up with the latest news and trends
• Expertise in celebrity news, fashion, and beauty
• Proficient in editing and self-publishing content
• SEO knowledge
• A self-starter mentality
• The ability to follow directions and a specific content strategy
• Enthusiasm and willingness to be a team player

The expected salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $75,000. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, and location.
