Controller - Remote

Overview

The Controller leads all accounting at Milestone and plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the organization. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with budgeting and reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and donor requirements.

In Short

• Prepares monthly financial statements.
• Prepares month-end journal entries.
• Exercises control over internal management reports.
• Ensures current and complete reporting systems.
• Executes the reconciliation process for balance sheet and revenue accounts.
• Plans and prepares for annual audits.
• Accounts for restricted donations per GAAP.
• Oversees financial grant management.
• Processes accounts payable and receivable.
• Acts as secondary payroll processor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' accounting experience.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Milestone Recovery.
• CPA or working toward CPA certification is a plus.
