The Remote Coding Specialist I - Ancillary Coding & Claim Edits is responsible for coding outpatient diagnostic healthcare records and managing claim edits for accurate billing and reimbursement.

• Responsible for coding outpatient diagnostic healthcare records
• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM classifications
• Validate CPT codes for procedures
• Review and respond to claim edits
• Use EPIC and 3M software for coding
• Collaborate with medical staff and clinical documentation specialists
• Minimum qualifications include completion of an approved coding program
• 1 year of outpatient coding experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills required

Requirements

• Completion of an AHIMA or AAPC-approved coding program
• Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or related field preferred
• Certification in coding (CCA, CPC, COC, RHIT, RHIA, CCS) required
• Experience with encoding/grouping software preferred
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Familiarity with remote work environments
• Strong oral and written communication skills
