Overview

The Coder II position involves analyzing physician and provider documentation to accurately assign diagnoses and procedures for Emergency Department and Outpatient Observation records, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and standards.

Requirements

• Completion of an AHIMA or AAPC-approved coding program required.
• Two years of acute care coding experience required.
• Certification such as CCA, CPC, or CCS is required.
• Experience in utilizing encoding software preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
