Overview

The Security Officer is responsible for patrolling the hospital and grounds to ensure a safe, secure environment for Associates, patients and their family members, and other visitors to the hospital.

In Short

  • Patrols hospital and grounds for safety and security.
  • Provides customer service and performs general duties.
  • Uses proper communication skills for radio and telephone.
  • Prepares daily activity and incident reports.
  • Maintains property of patients and lost and found items.
  • Assumes mobile responsibilities (van, shuttle).
  • Models appropriate behavior as per MLH Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Works independently and exercises judgment.
  • Participates in departmental specific training.
  • Maintains a working relationship with co-workers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of security or law enforcement experience.
  • Class D Driver's License - Tennessee.
  • Unarmed Security Guard License - Tennessee.
  • Knowledge of security and criminal investigation methods.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and prepare written materials.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks required by the job.
  • Integrity and honesty in carrying out assigned duties.
