PBX Operator PRN - Remote

Overview

The PBX Operator is responsible for managing incoming calls, monitoring alarm conditions, and ensuring effective communication during emergencies, all while embodying the mission and values of the organization.

In Short

• Receive and direct incoming telephone calls.
• Monitor and report alarm conditions on telecommunications systems.
• Alert support units during emergency situations.
• Provide information and assistance to callers.
• Initiate outgoing calls and obtain accurate call processing information.
• Operate a computer to access patient information and room assignments.
• Use a paging system for internal and external calls.
• Document emergency alerts and alarms properly.
• Follow protocols for physician paging.
• Perform additional job functions as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in a call center environment.
• Knowledge of PBX operations and procedures.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand technical manuals.
• Ability to work independently with good judgment.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
• Typing speed of 25-30 wpm.
• No supervisory responsibilities.
• Light physical work requirements.
