Lead Backend Engineer - Payments - Remote

Overview

Maxana is looking for a Lead Payments Engineer to join our talented team and spearhead the development of cutting-edge payment solutions for our key client. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the design, implementation, and optimization of payment systems that are efficient, secure, and scalable. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations while delivering a seamless payment experience.

In Short

• Lead the design and development of robust payment solutions, focusing on scalability, security, and performance utilizing Golang and/or Python
• API and Payment integrations (spreedly, stripe, gravy, etc)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine payment requirements and specifications.
• Implement payment gateway integrations and optimize transaction workflows to enhance user experiences.
• Conduct thorough technical reviews and recommend improvements to existing payment systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as PCI DSS and other regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with payment industry trends and advancements, recommending new technologies and practices to enhance existing systems.
• Establish best practices for payments engineering across the organization.
• Heavy backend work building out payment platform

Requirements

• Proficiency in Golang and/or Python
• Experience with payment systems and integrations
• Knowledge of PCI DSS and regulatory compliance
• Familiarity with AWS and cloud services
• Strong understanding of databases, particularly Postgres
• Experience with frontend technologies like JavaScript and TypeScript is a plus
• Ability to lead a team and collaborate effectively
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Passion for staying updated with industry trends
