Overview

As a Senior Scientific Software Developer at Matnex, you will play a leading role in championing the expansion of our platform’s capabilities, focusing on materials discovery and production to accelerate the change to net-zero.

In Short

• Lead and inspire the SSD team.
• Develop tools for data-driven materials modelling.
• Design workflows for high-throughput calculations.
• Interface with high-performance computing environments.
• Collaborate with the science team for platform development.
• Conduct market research related to materials.
• Perform IP white space analysis.
• Engage with customers for technical feasibility studies.
• Work closely with experimental teams.
• Support commercial initiatives and grant writing.

Requirements

• Minimum 2.1 first degree in a Physical Science or Computer Science.
• 3+ years of relevant experience or a PhD in a related field.
• Excellent knowledge of scientific principles in materials.
• Experience in computational modelling of materials.
• Track record of coding in Python.
• Passionate about the start-up ecosystem.
• Experience in scaling high performing teams (nice to have).
• Ability in JavaScript, Fortran, Julia or C++ (nice to have).
• Understanding of containerisation technology (nice to have).
• Experience in machine learning applications (nice to have).
