Mortgage Underwriting Quality Control Analyst - Credit Quality - Remote

Overview

Responsible for the completion of internal audits and communicating results to loan production offices and management; maintain current knowledge of both internal and external policy, procedures and guidelines; evaluate trend pattern analysis and identify fraud/misrepresentation.

In Short

• Evaluate a selected number of loans on a monthly basis for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform pre-funding and post-funding Quality Control reviews.
• Re-verify specific contents of loan files and order field review appraisals.
• Communicate potential defects to relevant parties.
• Conduct special audits as required by management or regulatory agencies.
• Identify red flags and perform additional due diligence.
• Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls.
• Maintain internal control standards and implement audit points.
• Promote an environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree with minimum 4 years’ mortgage processing/underwriting experience.
• In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience.
• Working knowledge of agency guidelines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• FHA DE and VA LAPP certifications preferred.
• Proficient in Allregs, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
• Experience in both Retail and 3rd party originations preferred.
