Mortgage Processor II - Remote

Overview

Responsible for processing conventional and government loan requests based on product, underwriting, and state specific and investor guidelines. Serve as the communication liaison between the customer and M&T’s Mortgage department.

In Short

• Maintain effective and professional communication with all parties involved in a new loan application.
• Work with internal departments and external organizations to obtain necessary documentation.
• Notify necessary parties of irregularities relative to standard mortgage guidelines.
• Monitor and update credit reports, appraisals, and verifications.
• Work closely with underwriting to resolve issues.
• Perform administrative duties supporting the origination department.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and guidelines.
• Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree with a minimum of one year’s mortgage industry experience or two years equivalent work experience.
• Good PC skills with knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, email, and PDF software.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on information provided.
• Knowledge of Product, Investor and Compliance Requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask.
• Strong attention to detail and prioritization of daily workload.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong work ethic, reliable and dependable.
