Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

Maleda Tech is seeking experienced Software Engineers to support a mission-driven nonprofit technology initiative focused on delivering safe housing and crisis response solutions at a global scale.

In Short

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners across engineering, product, research, and operations throughout the full product lifecycle.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and backend systems.
• Work across distributed systems and contribute to service-oriented architectures.
• Analyze data insights and research findings to identify product and system improvements.
• Navigate and build context within large, evolving codebases.
• Develop solutions to ambiguous and complex technical challenges.
• Contribute to technical discussions, architecture decisions, and system improvements.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 4+ years of professional experience building and delivering web applications.
• Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, TypeScript).
• Experience working with distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
• Ability to solve complex problems in ambiguous environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
