Security Engineer - Remote

Overview

Makpar is seeking a Security Engineer to support the implementation of security controls and ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks.

In Short

• Develop and document System Security Plans (SSPs) and Risk-Based Decisions (RBDs).
• Provide guidance on security control implementation.
• Collect and submit evidence for Security Control Assessments (SCAs).
• Understand security technologies including IAM and encryption methods.
• Knowledge of SIEM technologies like Splunk.
• Identify and remediate system security vulnerabilities.
• Develop security strategies and advise on implementation.
• 8+ years in IT with 5+ years in Information Security.
• Relevant security certifications required.
• US Citizenship or Green Card required.

Requirements

• 8+ years of IT experience.
• 5+ years in Information Security.
• Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CCSP, CEH).
• Knowledge of NIST 800-53, RMF, FedRAMP, FISMA.
• Understanding of networking concepts.
• Experience with microservices and containerization.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• US Citizenship or Green Card status for 3 years.
