Finance Director - Remote

Overview

Makpar is seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead and manage all accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements while supporting strategic decision-making.

In Short

• Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger entries and financial reporting.
• Oversee accuracy of financial data within the Unanet ERP system.
• Prepare financial statements in compliance with GAAP and FAR.
• Develop cash flow projections and financial models.
• Support preparation and submission of federal contract invoices.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on budgets and forecasts.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements in accounting functions.
• Provide financial insights to support other departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in federal contracting.
• Familiarity with government contracting regulations (FAR, DFARS, DCAA).
• Experience with Unanet ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Proactive and able to work independently.
• Collaborative team player.
