Overview

The Service Designer will collaborate with clinical, operations, technology, and various functions across Stanford Health Care to design and improve services that connect patients, care partners, providers, and employees seamlessly across all service delivery channels.

In Short

  • Collaborates cross-functionally on projects aimed at improving service user experiences.
  • Conducts qualitative and quantitative user research.
  • Creates alignment artifacts to communicate design decisions.
  • Identifies and advocates for integration needs across service ecosystems.
  • Establishes methods for measuring service user experiences.
  • Promotes human-centered design methods in support of patient experience goals.
  • Supports leadership in communicating experience-related concepts.
  • Creates digital and physical representations of ideas.
  • Engages with diverse stakeholders throughout the design process.
  • Ensures alignment with organizational goals and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in design, psychology, sociology, or related field.
  • Three years of experience in human-centered design and service design.
  • Two years managing projects independently in cross-functional environments.
  • Familiarity with U.S. healthcare systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations in user research.
  • Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools like Miro or Mural preferred.
