Senior Software Developer – System Software - Remote

Overview

This senior-level role focuses on the stability, integrity, and performance of software that underpins logistics, maintenance, and supply chain systems.

In Short

• Lead support and sustainment activities for system-level software across Windows, RHEL, VMware, and Kubernetes.
• Monitor application and infrastructure performance, identify degradation trends, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Resolve production software defects and perform root cause analysis.
• Remediate security vulnerabilities ensuring compliance with STIG, DHS 4300A, and NIST 800-53.
• Support continuous operation of legacy and hybrid systems.
• Develop scripts and automation routines to improve efficiency.
• Participate in change control and configuration management.
• Document technical resolutions and procedures for audit readiness.
• Work collaboratively with various teams to maintain service availability.
• Participate in Agile/DevSecOps operations using tools like Jira and Confluence.

Requirements

• Advanced expertise in system-level software development and support.
• Strong troubleshooting experience in production environments.
• Knowledge of legacy and enterprise systems.
• Scripting experience in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes.
• Strong documentation and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in a related field.
• Five years of relevant experience or equivalent education.
• Experience in Agile DevSecOps environments.
• Experience supporting federal government systems is preferred.
