Director of Grants - Remote

Overview

The Director of Grants oversees the direction and management of JVS SoCal’s Grants Department and reports to the Chief Development and Marketing Officer. This is a hybrid position with regular in-office days in Los Angeles every week. The Director is responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies that secure Government contracts through competitive bids and in Foundation and Corporate proposals, in support of JVS SoCal programs.

• Oversee the Grants Department and report to the Chief Development and Marketing Officer.
• Develop strategies to secure government contracts and foundation proposals.
• Manage the Grants team and write proposals and reports.
• Conduct research and data collection for grant proposals.
• Collaborate with Programs, Finance, and Philanthropy Departments.
• Track government policy trends related to funding.
• Work closely with program managers to develop service models.
• Present to the JVS SoCal Board of Directors.
• Ensure compliance with grant agreements.
• Participate in funder site visits and meetings.

Requirements

• BA and/or MA in relevant fields.
• Experience managing grants teams or fundraising roles.
• Minimum seven years in grant research and writing.
• Knowledge of fundraising techniques and sources.
• Proven track record of securing government contracts.
• Excellent budget development skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and grant management software.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
