Overview

This position involves managing and safeguarding sensitive patient health information while supporting clinical and administrative teams in a remote setting.

In Short

  • Receive and process requests for patient health information in compliance with federal and state guidelines.
  • Ensure confidentiality and limited access to sensitive patient records.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams and providers to maintain compliance in documentation and medical records management.
  • Respond to correspondence related to medical records through designated communication channels.
  • Manage database inquiries and verify patient information prior to document release.
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify improvement opportunities and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Conduct record audits to ensure documentation standards and quality benchmarks are met.
  • Track patient data for quality assessments and monitor adherence to processes.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support healthcare information management initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in business administration or related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements.
  • Understanding of auditing, billing, and coding initiatives.
  • Experience navigating major EMR systems and developing workflows.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other communication/collaboration tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills; ability to self-manage multiple projects.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
