ADA Accessibility Consultant – Built Environment - Remote

Overview

Jensen Hughes has an opportunity for an American's with Disabilities Act (ADA) / building code Accessibility Consultant for the physical built environment in California. This newly created position is an excellent career opportunity for mid to senior level candidate to bring their accessibility expertise and consulting passion to a multi-disciplined engineering team and grow the accessibility line of services.

In Short

• Manage and engage with clients on accessibility projects.
• Coordinate with in-house accessibility team and multidisciplinary engineers.
• Perform accessibility compliance inspections.
• Provide plan review services during project design phases.
• Collaborate with building owners, developers, and architects.
• Assist in developing new business and client accounts.
• Support accessibility consultant group with projects.
• Develop and provide training seminars on accessibility topics.
• Work within various market sectors including government and education.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
• 3-10 years of experience in accessibility consulting.
• Knowledge of ADA and California Building Code regulations.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Some travel required (~15%).
• Ability to perform visual site reviews at construction sites.
• Preferred certifications: ICC-certified Accessibility Inspector or CASp certification.
• Ability to self-manage projects while collaborating with teams.
