Associate, Underwriting - Remote

In Short

• Support underwriting and credit analysis of mission-driven real estate investments.
• Lead financial analysis for affordable housing transactions.
• Prepare detailed credit memoranda for committee consideration.
• Evaluate borrower capacity and layered subsidy structures.
• Maintain disciplined credit standards and risk guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Engage directly with borrowers to clarify underwriting assumptions.
• Present financial analysis at Intake Committee and Credit Committee.
• Coordinate due diligence review and closing process.
• Demonstrated interest in community development and impact investing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience underwriting real estate loans.
• Experience underwriting bespoke real estate transactions.
• Prior experience preparing and presenting credit analyses.
• Working knowledge of affordable housing finance and tax credit structures.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling and underwriting principles.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
• Experience coordinating transactions across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with federal and state housing finance programs preferred.
