Director of Finance - Remote

Overview

The Director of Finance is responsible for all finance and accounting activity including maintaining accurate records in the general ledger, producing monthly payroll, assisting the COO with creating monthly financial statements, reconciling bank accounts, processing accounts payable, recording customer invoices, and tracking accounts receivable.

In Short

• Complete all accounting functions including journal entries for both accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals and other day to day accounting activities.
• Responsible for setting up monthly payroll in ADP to be reviewed by COO.
• Work closely with HR to ensure smooth onboarding of new hires.
• Completes monthly cash reconciliation to organization’s bank accounts and general ledger.
• Assures that all financial statements are accurate and complete on a monthly basis.
• Lead for all external audit functions and 990 creation.
• Collaborate with COO on financial reporting and dashboards.
• Manage credit card payments and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with business line leaders to manage invoices on client payment platforms.

Requirements

• A passion for Living Future’s mission and enthusiasm for serving a dynamic, environmental organization.
• Strong accounting background with experience in Sage Intacct and ADP.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience, preferably in nonprofit/fund accounting.
• Experience building out dashboards in financial software or ERP systems.
• Experience with audits and 990 preparation strongly preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal direction.
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse organizations and backgrounds.
