Full-Stack Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

Instructure is seeking a full-stack engineer to contribute to the development of modern web experiences and services used globally by partners, educators, and learners. This role includes working across the stack from elegant, accessible React UIs to sophisticated Rails APIs.

In Short

• Contribute to the design and build of production features in Rails, TypeScript, and React.
• Implement serverless/edge APIs and jobs on AWS.
• Collaborate on data modeling and ship performant Postgres queries.
• Build for international audiences with i18n/l10n considerations.
• Instrument services with logs/metrics/traces.
• Promote accessibility and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with peers and contribute to technical discussions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience using AWS for serverless and edge patterns.
• Experience with SQL and Rails in production.
• Experience with testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with operating multi-region/global apps.
• Security mindset and familiarity with FERPA/GDPR implications.
• Excellent communication and product sense.
