Lead Designer - Remote

Overview

Insomniac is looking for our next Lead Designer. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of designers to execute on a single project or area of focus to achieve Insomniac’s vision of Best Developer. Ensures excellent on time in budget deliveries through individual leadership, design craft mentoring, and collaboration with designers, design leaders, and studio peers.

In Short

• Leads team members to deliver excellent, on time, in budget results.
• Meets regularly with team members to provide constructive feedback and conduct performance assessments.
• Supervises direct reports on the Design team and participates in strategy and decision making.
• Assists with project staffing, hiring, and onboarding.
• Evaluates team members’ goals and objectives.
• Manages career growth and development of direct reports.
• Facilitates team training and provides mentoring.
• Collaborates to develop, refine, and document best practices.
• Regularly plays games in development and provides feedback.
• Advocates for studio cultural values and fosters an inclusive environment.
