Overview

The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) in the Emergency Department is responsible for managing non-nursing functions, enhancing productivity, and ensuring excellent customer service for patients and staff.

In Short

  • Plans and organizes non-nursing functions of the unit.
  • Facilitates workflow and enhances unit productivity.
  • Performs clerical and reception duties.
  • Requisitions supplies and equipment as directed.
  • Assists with scheduling and observes telemetry monitors.
  • Works part-time, 20 hours per week with 12-hour shifts.
  • Must work every other weekend and holidays.
  • BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • Preferred experience in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Possible remote/hybrid work option available.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work 20 hours per week.
  • 12-hour shifts from noon to midnight.
  • BLS certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • Experience as a health unit coordinator or similar role preferred.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
