Overview

The Software Quality Assurance Tester performs advanced analysis and application testing work involving the daily operations and activities of testing teams within the Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) section of IT-SEDS (Information Technology – Statewide Education Data System).

In Short

• Analyze user requirements and design documents to develop test plans and detailed test cases.
• Execute automated functional and regression test cases.
• Report and document all issues, test cases run, test results, and testing summaries.
• Perform manual testing and data validation.
• Execute advanced SQL queries to analyze and manipulate data.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand functionality under test.
• Review user requirements and procedures to automate applications or improve existing systems.
• Provide testing effort estimates and resolve defects or issues.
• Communicate status on work assignments or issues.

Requirements

• Experience in Quality Assurance and automated testing.
• Strong understanding of SQL for data analysis.
• Ability to develop test plans and test cases.
• Experience with manual testing processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
