Senior DevOps Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Senior DevOps engineer will provide technical leadership to our team of DevOps Engineers. This role will provide coaching, mentorship, and training as well as shaping the technical road map and standards for iHerb’s DevOps team. This role will work closely with other Lead Developers in the organization to ensure proper support and alignment is in place to push new technologies to both front and back end services.

• Work closely with the Engineering Operations teams to ensure proper security, infrastructure, and standards are in place.
• Create new concepts and designs by collaborating with the DevOps Engineers and other Lead Developers.
• Coach and mentor the team on DevOps best practices.
• Optimize system architecture and project efficiency.
• Partner with the Project Manager to plan work and prioritization.
• Provide technical leadership to teammates.
• Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
• Research and evaluate a variety of software products.
• Analyze and resolve technical and application problems.
• On call duties as needed.

Requirements

• Experience leading a team of System or DevOps Engineers.
• Expert knowledge in tools and technologies such as CDN, DNS, Cloud base computing, Code Deployment, Configuration Management.
• Experience with Linux.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of HTTP protocol and IP concepts.
• Experience writing shell scripts and other scripting languages.
• Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes.
• Familiar with E-Commerce.
• Proven track record being technical lead of DevOps projects.
• Accustomed with agile methodologies.
