Substation Protection & Control Engineer - Remote

Overview

ICF is seeking a Substation Protection & Control Engineer to work remotely on the design of relay and protection and control projects for high voltage substations, ensuring high-quality engineering services for our clients.

In Short

• Design and prepare Protection and Control Drawings.
• Work on high voltage substations from 12kV to 500kV.
• Participate in client meetings and perform site visits.
• Ensure compliance with company’s QA/QC processes.
• Coordinate with various engineering disciplines.
• Develop equipment specifications and bill of materials.
• Continuously improve engineering knowledge and skills.
• Work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Utilize software tools like AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
• Engage in community investment and volunteer opportunities.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 2+ years of protection and controls experience.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
• Knowledge of industry standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI).
• Ability to produce technical plans and drawings.
• Professional Engineer License (PE) preferred.
• Engineering in Training license (EIT) preferred.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Self-sufficient and proactive work style.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
