Overview

The Protection & Controls Substation Project Engineer role is a mid-level, full-time, permanent position that allows you to work from home while leading projects in electrical substation protection and control design.

In Short

• Fully remote position, work from home Monday - Friday.
• Lead projects in electrical substation protection and control design.
• Create and modify design documents and drawings.
• Design auxiliary AC and DC power systems.
• Develop SCADA systems and communications interfaces.
• Perform relay coordination studies and prepare relay settings.
• Coordinate project activities with Project Managers and clients.
• Manage project work from all technical aspects.
• Create project cost estimates and proposals.
• Minimum 6 years experience required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineering License (PE) required.
• Strong understanding of substation project lifecycle.
• Excellent technical communication skills.
• High comfort level with mentoring team members.
• Minimum 6 years experience in high voltage substations.
