Data Architect - Remote

Overview

ICF is seeking a Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of a robust data lake architecture to support advanced analytics and AI/ML initiatives for a government agency focused on child welfare.

• Lead architecture and design of AWS-based data lake and integration ecosystem.
• Define data modeling, metadata, and data governance standards.
• Establish best practices in data architecture.
• Collaborate across teams for scalable and secure data solutions.
• Guide selection and use of AWS services and integration tools.
• Mentor teams on architectural standards and practices.
• Support project delivery for Data Lake and BI projects.
• Must reside within 50 miles of Washington, DC Metro Area.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
• In-person meetings may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture or enterprise data management.
• 3+ years in designing cloud-native data solutions in AWS.
• Experience in data modeling and governance frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with data lakes and real-time data pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Knowledge of big data tools like Spark and Kafka.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• AWS Certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with data privacy and security frameworks.
