Overview

The Data Engineer (Scala) position is a critical role in the Health Engineering Solutions team, focusing on analytics and reporting for the Quality Payment Program.

In Short

• Document and communicate requirements for data engineers.
• Write Scala code for analytics and reporting tasks.
• Utilize Python scripts for ETL and data analysis.
• Perform data validation and SQL queries.
• Improve data quality checks and documentation.
• Analyze large datasets for inconsistencies.
• Communicate effectively with external partners.
• Work in an Agile environment and attend Scrum ceremonies.
• Some travel may be required for in-person events.
• Must reside in the U.S. and be authorized to work in the U.S.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years in software or data development.
• 3+ years developing ETL pipelines with Scala and Spark.
• 1+ years of experience with SQL.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
• Strong problem-solving skills and independence.
• Excellent technical communication skills.
• Ability to simplify complex ideas and learn new techniques.
• 5 years of experience preferred with a bachelor’s degree.
• Prior experience with Medicare/Medicaid data is a plus.
