Operational Data Engineer - Remote

Overview

This role will play a critical role in supporting the airline customers by designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and analytical solutions that drive operational efficiency and fuel savings.

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to integrate fuel and operational data from multiple systems.
• Perform data profiling, validation, and quality checks to ensure accurate reporting and analysis of fuel usage.
• Develop analytical datasets that empower the Fuel Team to track consumption trends.
• Collaborate with data scientists and fuel efficiency experts for advanced modeling.
• Manage metadata, data dictionaries, and documentation for data usage transparency.
• Provide post-deployment support and troubleshooting for data solutions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align fuel data initiatives with operational needs.
• Contribute to sustainability and efficiency efforts through data-driven strategies.
• Ideal candidate should have experience in data engineering, preferably in aviation transportation.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, PowerShell, and cloud platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors with 5+ years experience.
• Proven experience in data engineering in real-time operational environments.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data lakes/warehouses.
• Familiarity with aviation data standards is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced industry.
