An opportunity for a part-time International Humanitarian Rights Law/Law of Armed Conflict Subject Matter Expert (Lawyer) to support rule of law training for a Department of Defense contract.

In Short

• Part-time position as a Subject Matter Expert in International Humanitarian Rights Law.
• Support to Security Cooperation Project.
• Remote support (CONUS) and forward engagements (OCONUS).
• Pre-Engagement: 20 hours, Engagement: 24 hours, Post-Engagement: 6 hours.
• Immediate availability required.
• Objective: Provide rule of law training seminars.
• Requires a Juris Doctor's degree or similar advanced legal degree.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in international human rights and humanitarian law.
• Recent instructional experience with military and security personnel.
• Department of Defense Secret Clearance is mandatory.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 10 years of experience in international human rights and humanitarian law.
• Recent instructional experience in the subject matter.
• Ability to communicate complex legal issues effectively.
• Experience working in team instructional environments.
• Former Judge Advocate Corps (JAG) military lawyer is a strong advantage.
• Active Secret Clearance from the Department of Defense.
