Senior Accountant, Payroll - Remote

Overview

The Senior Accountant, Payroll will primarily manage the full cycle accounting for payroll, including payroll processing, reconciliation, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with company policy as well as federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations.

In Short

• Manage full-cycle semi-monthly payroll processing across multiple subsidiaries.
• Support month-end close process ensuring accurate payroll transactions.
• Process off-cycle payroll batches as necessary.
• Review and process hours from a timekeeping system.
• Create reconciliation reports for 401k, benefits, and equity.
• Design and implement scalable processes for payroll efficiency.
• Prepare payroll reports for various internal departments.
• Review W-2s for accuracy and timely issuance.
• Manage payroll accounting email inbox and respond to inquiries.
• Assist with other accounting and finance projects as needed.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of payroll experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with multi-state payrolls for over 1,000 employees.
• Knowledge of payroll compliance and state/federal regulations.
• Experience with Paylocity and NetSuite preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Tech-savvy mindset with a focus on process improvement.
