In Short

• Serve as a player-coach in development design and engineering of renewable energy projects.
• Oversee contracted engineering firms as the “Owner’s engineer”.
• Collaborate with the Vice President of Development Engineering on technical requirements.
• Establish design and engineering standards.
• Assess project feasibility and construction complexity.
• Oversee full project life cycle and develop preliminary engineering plans.
• Guide and train project engineers.
• Serve as a technical expert on solar technology and electrical equipment.
• Review project deliverables for compliance with codes and client requests.
• Conduct energy production estimates using PVsyst and Helioscope.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; master’s degree preferred.
• At least 7 years of energy system design experience.
• 5+ years designing C&I Rooftop Solar systems and small ground-mount systems.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in electrical, mechanical, or civil.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Experience with energy efficiency and carbon reduction technologies preferred.
• Experience managing a large portfolio of projects.
• Experienced with PV design tools including Helioscope, PVsyst, and AutoCAD.
• Proficient with Procore and MS office tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
